White Cowbell are hands down one of Canada's most rockin, raunchy, and entertaining bands in the history of music... possibly in the history of humans!!!
You have no idea what we're talking about until you see a show... just be warned it includes chainsaws, a sherif, and if the nights riight then some naked women as well.
These guys have shared the stage with everyone from Sloan, The Barenaked Ladies, The Sam Roberts Band, The Tragically Hip, to Iron Maiden, Drive By Truckers, and Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion!!! They have Played from Toronto's NXNE to the famed SXSW in Austin Texas, not to mention to a crowd of 40,000 dutch rock fans in Europe!!!
These guys remind us of Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, and all other southern rock bands worth mentioning only with more rock, more guitars, and the energy of a band run by the likes of Lemy!!! They describe the contents of their music quite well by saying that it has: "Massive Southern Boogie, Harmony-laden Guitar Excellence, Riff-O-Licious Heaviness, Country Twang with a Hint of Motorhead."
The lyrics are undinably raunchy and if you can't see through the metaphors then theirs something wrong with you! This is true rock and there really is absolutely no foolin around. Check out tunes from their albums like "Put The South in Your Mouth" or "She's Got My Love In Her Hand" or even "(Tear You) A New One" just to mention a few... The white Board Project
These guys are a band that kind of just happened to be in the right place at the right time.....at least thats how they met!!! They had seen each other jam around town before but it wasn't until another band had to quit in mid performance that they ended up getting thrown together so as to finish up the show. Two years later they're still rockin out together.
Their music is at times like beauty and the beast......a song will have almost a "pretty intro" which gives you no idea of the raging beast that is about to explode!!! Check it out for yourselves on these demos:
