We Are Balboa won Global Battle of the Bands in Spain in 2005 and have recently finished recording their first International debut album "Spaces Between Bodies".
After playing at the legendary Astoria in London the band got hooked up with producer Jon Gray (The Editors, Snow Patrol, The Zutons, The Subways, The Coral, etc...) and consequently produced their album. And to top it off the album was engineered by Kevin Metcalf (Oasis, Supergrass, The Kinks, Rufus Wainright,
etc...). These are certainly names that stand out in the industry, but of course where it really lies is in the music...and it certainly does in this case.
They have played to 20,000 + crowds opening for platinum album bands in Europe as well as performing on a wide variety of T.V. and radio shows.
And the reason for this is none other than: they know how to ROCK. Lua's vocals along side Calos' guitar playing, and backed by one SOLID rhythm section, seems to be the recipe for the bands undeniable success!!!
They are high energy and put every bit of it into producing driving rhythms and catchy melodies, not to mention hook filled vocal lines.
