"My favorite Jazz Teacher....."
PAT MARTINO
Jazz guitar legend. Pat is the Bill Evans of guitar, each of his tasteful lines and beautiful harmonies is meaningful and melodic. You can tell that he plays from the soul to feed his passion and not from his ego and that each note was meant to be. Pat once told me in a lesson that a long time ago he decided that the only way to be good at a style of music was to focus on that one style. Well it doesn't take long listening to him to realize that this
is as good as it gets. And certainly after playing jazz with some of the world's top players, people such as Pat and Joe LaBarbra, John Gross, Don Thompson, P.J. Perry, Kenny Wheeler, Dave Holland, and the list goes on... (in fact it is as good as endless!!!) __ it is no wonder that he is a cutting edge guitar legend at the top of his game.
Pat is not only a respected player, arranger and composer but also a renowned producer. He has taken on projects involving a number of styles
of music as well as his jazz productions, many of which have reached top radio spots both sides of the pond.
When you listen to Pat play live you know you are witnessing something special. Listening to a few of the tracks a little further down on the page will give you a taste of some of that magic...
