• Chasing Satellites are finally having their "CD Release Party" at The Queens in Nanaimo BC, on May 29th at 10pm. The album "Dinosaurs in Stanley park" has been almost a year in the making and the band are relieved to say the least that it is finally done!!! They are planning to start on a new album at the end of the summer... they figure they might as well "keep the ball moving"!!! The band is also going to be touring in September/October western Canada along side two well known bands  that we will leave nameless for the time being...

                       


  • The Vargas Blues Band has just finished mixing and mastering the new album "Flamenco Blues Experience" in Memphis and will be released in stores in the very near future. The album features collaborations by Frank Marino (Mahogany Rush), Raimundo Amador (one of Spain's finest flamenco guitarists), Devon Allman (son of Greg Allman), Rey Morao (a well known Spanish duo), The Cherry Boppers (an awesome European funk band), and many more... The artwork for the album has been created by none other than Bob Masse (Jimi Hendrix, The cream, Bob Dylan, Janis Jopplin, U2, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Strokes, etc...). The album is certainly worth looking out for!!!




  • Chasing Satellites will be performing at The Gateway (SAIT, Calgary) as the headlining act on April 10th as part of their mini tour of Alberta. If you're in the area be sure to catch the Satellites while you can!!!


                                          

  • Jimmy Hazzard, Vilot, Afterglow, and Chasing Satellites will be performing March 15th 2008 at The Pit (UBC) in Vancouver as part of the Mazda Muzik Tour. They are competing to be opening act for The Sam Roberts Band.   • Jon Bone is performing at The Vault in Nanaimo on March 21st. There are a   number of invited friends and guest players that will be getting up on stage to join in the "celebration of diversity". The band itself will be a five piece and will grow through out the night. The groove is going to have  people dancing so be ready to have a funky good time. The concert is being filmed and recorded live so make sure you make some noise!!! All ages are welcome, just make sure you're there in good time as the place will pack.

                                   

  • The Cherry Boppers have just finished their new album "Play It Again" and have been receiving regular airplay on BBC Radio in England. The album features Javier Vargas on guitar and a ton of hits that will keep you groovin all night!!!! They have a busy touring schedule for the months to come including a possible tour of Western Canada. These guys are in demand in Europe and it's just a question of time before they hit the North American market, infact there's a record and distribution deal on its way so look out for these guys in stores near you!!!

                                 

                                    

  • Chasing Satellites and We Are Balboa have recently signed with Nashville based song placement company and music supervisors "Song & Film" . The company has placed music on movies ranging from Epic Movie to Elegy and T.V. shows such as Degrassi: The Next Generation, M.V.P., and numerous shows on The E!Chanel. Watch out as you may recognize some of our artists musc on upcoming movies and shows!!!!

  • Chasing Satellites are soon to confirm a Western Canada tour for the month of  April. Dates will be posted shortly. For more updates check out their myspace. Also their new album "Dinosaurs in Stanley Park " is almost finished and  CD release parties will also be posted soon.

  • Jon Bone & The Karuna Movement will be entering the studio at the end of March   to record their first studio album. It will be featuring many guest musicians and the album will be something all to watch for.

  • The White Board Project will be recording live at The Queens Hotel on March 19th  in Nanimo. Following that they will be holding a CD release party at The Cambie in Nanaimo on March 21st. We want to see as many people out at these events as possible, they need a packed room to get a great sound on the recording., what's more those who attend will be on the recording for prosperity!!!! Come ready to rock!!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

It's a new year and we have lots of new things on the go and lots of new things to look forward to!!!  There are bands coming out with new albums  and others going into the studio to record. There are lots of tours  lined up  for the summer and showcases  in between now and then. We'll be posting   a lot of this information soon, but for now we just want to wish everyone a happy 2008!!!!

  • The Dudes were in Spain in June touring the country and making yet more fans than they already seem to have across the globe....!!!!
  • Eliza is putting on a benefit concert on Saturday April 21st at the Cavolloti Lodge in Nanaimo BC. The benfit is for the building of a  skate park on Gabriola Island in memory of Stephen Smith. There will be more than 7 performing Hip Hop artists on the bill. Eliza will be backed by her live band, and will also be performing with her crew  from Sunk City. The tickets will be $10 at the door and the show starts at 8pm. All ages are welcome. For more information on what the benefit is in cause of check out the Ride Free organization. Eliza is  also performing with her band live @ The Queens in Nanaimo BC on Wednesday April 25th at 10pm.


  • Play It Loud Music in colaboration with The Queens Hotel in Nanaimo, BC is organizing a long list of local and not so local bands to record their  live performances. Once the recordings are finished a compilation CD will be put together and then sold.  Only a limited number of CD's will be pressed and all profits will go to a charity yet to be anounced.
    The music will be original compositions and of a wide variety of styles (Rock, Blues, Country, Jazz, ...etc). The dates and the names of the bands performing will be posted shortly, so keep coming back to check!!!
  • Play It loud music is proud to say that we have Johnny Cash's legendary band The Tennessee Three on tour in Spain from March  8th until March 18th 2007. Not only are we proud to have had the opportunity to work with such a legendary band but also we are proud to say that we are the first to ever take the band to Spain!!!              Also coming up in August 2007 we have Devon Allman's Honeytribe coming to Canada to do some festivals as well as club dates along side The Vargas Blues Band. Devon is the true heir to his fathers voice (Gregg Allman, The Allman Brothers). We will tell you more about this southern rock band as the dates approach.
  • Vilot is soon to release their new album "Who Wants It Electric?" sometime after Christmas, early  2007. They have also recently recorded a live CD which is also  to be released in 2007. Vilot are currently finalizing dates for their upcoming European tour "Who  Wants It Electric 2007". This will be a return to Europe after a successfull tour in the summer of 2006.  Play It Loud Music will be taking Vilot on the road to Italy, France, England, and Spain. So stay tuned for more updates!
  • Pat Coleman and his trio will be hitting the stages of some of Europe's finest jazz festivals in the summer of 2007. They will be traveling to England, Holland, Sweden and Spain. This tour will partly be in  support of Pat's new album due to be released in late autumn 2007   by Road House Records. If you have a chance to  see The Pat Coleman Trio live before they leave you won't be disappointed  and you will  know Europe is in for a treat!
  • The Vargas Blues Band have their first full tour of North America coming up in the summer of 2007. A live album will be recorded so  that those who want can relive the live shows. They will be playing numerous blues festivals and clubs across Canada and the States. The Vargas Blues Band will bring their unique sound and style to the continent, and anyone who is not yet a fan will certainly be one once they catch a VBB show!
  • Smiling Jack Smith's new album "This Blues Before"  has been recorded in Canada, produced by Pat Coleman and engineered by Rick Salt. It has recently been released by Root Cellar Records and is available for purchase. There WILL be a tour , so stay tuned!!
  • Jeff Liboiron's album Sphere is now available to buy, so there is no need to wait any longer, in fact what are you waiting for?  Buy it!!! 


Benefit Concert

  • R&B for R&R. Play It Loud Music in colaboration with SWOVA is putting on a benefit concert on Salt Spring Island BC, April 7th 2007. The concert is in benefit of the award winning R&R program that is gradually expanding into more and more school districts and now being endorsed by UNICEF Canada.
  • For this special event Canadian artists Andrea Smith, Jenica Rayne, and Kendell will be performing at the Art Spring Theater. In addition, the GISS high school's senior Jazz Combo and the Island's own Planet Music will be performing as opening acts.


Vilot

  • Vilot rocked out at the "New Music West Festival" in Vancouver 27th April 2006. This was a great concert and a great showcase for Vilot's music. You'll be hearing a lot more from them as a few radio show reps came out to see them as well as a few record labels.
  • Vilot put on a great show to a big audience live at the "Queens" in Nanaimo 29th April 2006.
  • Vilot set the night on fire at ¨The Buffalo Club¨in Vancouver 26th May 2006.

  • Chasing Satellites are putting the finishing touches to their new album "Dinosaurs in Stanley Park". Although it will not be officially released until earlier next year we will have a sneak preview available shortly!!!
  • Devon Allman was in Canada with is Honeytribe this summer as part  of his extensive North American tour.
  • The Vargas Blues Band were on tour in Western Canada this August playing the festivals including to a crowd of 30,000!!!
